Alcatel-Lucent has announced plans to collaborate with True Corporation, a fully-integrated telecom carrier of Thailand, to launch WiMAX trial services in the Phatumthanee province near Bangkok, according to a report by TMCNet. The trial will be based on WiMAX 802.16e-2005 mobile technology. Incorporating cutting-edge technologies such as beam forming and MIMO (Multiple-Input Multiple-Output), Alcatel-Lucent will provide its comprehensive Universal WiMAX Solution for True. Deliverables comprise base stations, wireless access controller, operation and maintenance center, as well as CPE (Customer Premises Equipment).
